SMS Program Terms

The program

MerchantBuilt sends operational account notifications by text message to the administrators of stores hosted on the MerchantBuilt platform: scheduled maintenance windows, security actions required on an account, and service warnings. Messages are transactional and relate to the administration of your store. The program does not send marketing or promotional messages.

Consent

Consent is optional and is collected in the MerchantBuilt admin console. SMS is off by default for every notification type. A store administrator enters their own mobile number in their account settings and chooses, per notification type, which messages may reach them by text. Nothing is sent by SMS until an administrator has made that choice, and it can be changed or withdrawn at any time in the console or by replying STOP.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies with what happens on the platform and with the notification types you have chosen. Most administrators receive a few messages a month; a maintenance window or a security event may produce more in a short period.

Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile plan.

Help and opting out

Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact us at the address below.
Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You will receive one final message confirming the opt-out, and no further texts will be sent. Replying STOP clears the SMS preference stored on your account, so the choice is reflected in the console and not merely at the carrier. You can opt back in later from your account settings.

Carriers

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are used solely to deliver these notifications and are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See the Privacy Policy.
